Looking into Emanuel Stewards amateur boxing career one might wonder why he never opted to turn professional considering that he earned a solid boxing record of 95 wins and 3 losses, and capturing a National Golden Gloves title along the way. Emanuel did, but with the lack of trusted managers available, he opted to become an electrician and a part time amateur boxing coach instead.

Stewards work at Kronk Gym in Detroit grew as his talent pool of fighters grew until he finally gave in to his passion and became a full time boxing coach helping amateurs and professionals alike. It was the right decision. Steward has been amongst the most successful trainers and managers in the world of boxing with a massive list of world champions, contenders and Olympic medalists on his resume.

Legends like Thomas Hearns, Lennox Lewis, Naseem Hamed, Evander Holyfield, Jermain Taylor, Kermit Cintron, Julio Cesar Chavez, James Toney and Oscar De La Hoya are just some of the very many champion boxers that have been involved with Steward at one point in their respective careers. Steward is still heavily involved in boxing today training fighters in his Kronk Gym and commentating on the HBO television network. Coach Steward has also been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
