Feinting in boxing![]() Feinting in boxing is a great technique which is used to deceive you opponent by making him/her think that a particular punch is coming. A fighter must use his/her hands, eyes, legs and body to deceive an opponent by making slight movements of each. A great example is a slight rapid movement of your jabbing hand and then quickly getting down and firing a cross to the midsection of your opponent. The move is basically faking to the head and landing to the body. It's all about deception and using your body language to force an opponents reaction then capitalizing on it by doing the exact opposite of what your opponent thought you were going to do. It is an advanced prize fighting technique but a handy one as it creates openings and gives you multiple options. You can use this tool both in offense and defense. Prize fighting legend Roy Jones Jr utilizes this tool to frustrate his opponents and make easy openings for himself.
